Following this past week's constitutional referendum, the Kenyan media are reporting that, "according to impeccable sources", Friday, August 20, 2010, will soon be declared a one-off public holiday to allow Kenyans to witness the promulgation of the new constitution.
Late last month (30-Jul-2010), as had been widely expected (28-Jul-2010), Kenyan President, Mwai Kibaki, declared Wednesday, August 4, 2010, the date of the recent constitutional referendum, a one-off public holiday "to allow Kenyans to fully take part at the referendum on the draft law".
We will post another news update as soon as this additional, August 20, public holiday is officially confirmed.
