Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, has declared Friday, December 31, 2010, as a one-off national public holiday.

The aforementioned public holiday was declared to commemorate Malaysia's victory in the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup, earlier tonight. Similar sports-related public holidays have been declared in the past in Malaysia, albeit usually at the State level only (04-Nov-2009).
