Moldova Declares Public Holiday On August 30

(Posted on Tuesday, August 10, 2010)

Source: Jurnal (Chisinau)

Earlier this afternoon, the government of Moldova announced that it had declared Monday, August 30, 2010, as an additional one-off non-working public holiday throughout Moldova.

Note that the aforementioned additional public holiday, in conjunction with the annual Independence Day public holiday on Friday, August 27, 2010, and the annual National Language Day public holiday on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, this will mean 5 consecutive non-working days for Moldovans.

As is traditionally the case (04-Dec-2009 and 10-Dec-2008) this one-off bridge public holiday will be compensated by Saturday, September 18, 2010, having been declared a regular working day in Moldova.
