The New Zealand government has introduced The Holidays Amendment Bill, which includes a late amendment in order to clarify the law around the Christmas and New Year public holidays.
The aforementioned amendment confirms the terms of the email sent to us by the New Zealand Department of Labour, late last year (09-Dec-2009).
Responding to questions in Parliament, New Zealand's Minister of Labour, Kate Wilikinson, confirmed that the holidays advisory group suggestion to make Saint Patrick's Day a public holiday was rejected.
