The Jigawa State Commissioner for Information, Youth and Sports, Alhaji Aminu Mohammed, has announced that the government of the Nigerian State of Jigawa had declared Friday, August 27, 2010, as a regional public holiday to mark the 19th anniversary of the Jigawa state's creation.
Two years ago (25-Aug-2008), Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, had announced that, effective immediately, August 27th would be an annual public holiday in Jigawa State.
