The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it, and all offices of the SBP Banking Services Corporation, including public debt offices, will remain closed on Thursday, August 12, 2010, which will be observed as the annual bank holiday for the beginning of Ramadan.
As such, all financial institutions in Pakistan, will be closed, and no clearing and settlement will take place on August 12, 2010. The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), however, will remain open for trading on that date.
The aforementioned announcement is in line with the "expected dates for public and optional holidays for the calendar year 2010" published at the end of last year (24-Dec-2009).
