Philippines Declares May 10 Public Holiday

Philippines President, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, has signed Proclamation 2020, declaring May 10, 2010, the date of the upcoming national elections, a special public non-working holiday throughout the country.

Similar electoral public holidays were declared on the occasion of the last mid-term, and term, elections (25-Apr-2007 and 06-May-2004).
