Philippines President, Benigno Aquino III, has signed Proclamation 26, "Declaring Friday, September 10, 2010 As A Regular Holiday Throughout The Country In Observance Of Eid’l Fitr (Feast Of Ramadhan)".
Friday, September 10, 2010, was the date that had been recommended by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (31-Aug-2010), however, after the cancellation of the August 23 public holiday, last month (11-Aug-2010), President, Aquino had let it be known that the declaration of a public holiday for the End of Ramadan was by no means a foregone conclusion.
