The Rwandan government has announced that Monday, August 9, 2010, the date of the upcoming presidential election, would be a one-off non-working public holiday.
A similar electoral public holiday was declared in 2008, on the occasion of the last parliamentary elections (15-Sep-2008), although this time the public holiday is not limited to the public sector only.
