The spokesperson for the regional government of Spain's autonomous region of las Islas Canarias, Martín Marrero, has announced the official list of 2011 regional public holidays in the Canaries Islands.

The calendario laboral de la comunidad para 2011 contains all the nationwide Spanish public holidays and, to these, adds the May 30 "Día de Canarias" and a public holiday on December 26 to compensate the fact that, in 2011, Christmas falls on a Sunday, as other Spanish regions have already done (03-Jul-2010).

In addition, the announcement contains the dates of the 2011 additional municipal public holidays specific to each of the individual islands that make up the Canaries (El Hierro, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, Lanzarote, La Palma, and Tenerife).
