Trinidad and Tobago's Minister of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education, Fazal Karim, has announced that a public holiday would be granted on Friday, September 10, 2010, for the observance of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

To avoid conflicting dates, as occurred last year (14-Sep-2009), Minister Karim emphasized that the aforementioned announcement had been made after consultations with the Trinidad Muslim League (TML), the Anjuman Sunnat Ul Jamaat Association (ASJA), and the Tackveeyatul Islamic Association (TIA).
