The Armenian government has rejected a proposal by the NA Heritage Party to declare April 7 as a new annual non-working public holiday in Armenia.
The aforementioned proposed new annual public holiday would have been to mark the Armenian Apostolic Church's celebration of the holiday of the Saint Virgin Mary on April 7.
Following the recent year's extensions of Armenian non-working public holidays (16-Dec-2010 and 05-Dec-2009), the Armenian Gorvernment had felt that this additional non-working public holiday would be an excessive burden for employers.
