The British Virgin Islands' Premier, Ralph O’Neal, has announced that the upcoming general elections would be held on Monday, November 7, 2011.

Up to now, the British Virgin Islands have never declared a post-election public holiday, although such post-election public holidays are a common occurrence in many Caribbean countries (12-Jul-2011, 30-Dec-2009, 08-Sep-2009, 13-Mar-2009, 05-May-2005, 22-Feb-2005, 21-May-2003, 21-Oct-2003, 27-Nov-2003, and 23-May-1997).
