Estonia's parliament has approved the Public and National Holidays Act and the Estonian Flag Act Amendment Act (RT I, 09.03.2011, 2) which amends the current legislation governing public holidays, days off, and national holidays in Estonia.
The aforementioned act amends the 1998 Public and National Holidays Act (RT I 1998, 13, 162) which overhauled the Estonian legislation governing public holidays and days off in Estonia (27-Jan-1998), as was amended (11-Feb-1999, 14-Apr-2004, 23-Mar-2005, 15-Apr-2005, 15-Feb-2007, 18-Jun-2009, 21-Jan-2010), by adding a new annual national holiday, as well as a new annual Flag Day, the Day of the Tribe, on the third Saturday in October.
