Georgian Public Holiday Declared On October 7

Georgian President, Mikheil Saakashvili, has declared Friday, October 7, 2011, as non-working public holiday on account of the upcoming Tbilisoba festival.

The aforementioned Tbilisoba is a Soviet-era festivity dedicated to the capital city of Georgia, and as such its observance is limited to the capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi.

The Tbilisoba is usually is observed during the last weekend of October, but this year, exceptionally, it will start on Friday, October 7, and last until Sunday, October 9, 2011.
