The government of Honduras has officially announced that all 3 of the upcoming October public holidays will either occur on or be moved to the nearest Monday.
As per the aforementioned government announcement, the observance of the October 12 (Día de la Hispanidad) and October 21 (Día de las Fuerzas Armadas) public holidays will be moved to October 17 and 24, respectively, as per the 2003 decree 50-2003 moving some of the fixed-date public holidays to the following Monday (09-Apr-2003).
The October 3 public holiday commemorating the birth date of General Francisco Morazán will remain on its set date as per the same decree 50-2003 of April 3, 2003.
These changes will apply to both the public sector (los empleados públicos gozarán de asueto tres de los cinco lunes de octubre) and the private sector (el Gobierno exhortó a la empresa privada a planificar los asuetos de la misma manera).
