The Chief Minister of the government of India's Delhi state, Sheila Dikshit, has announced that Thursday, April 14, and Saturday, April 16, 2011, would be gazetted non-working public holidays to mark the birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar and Mahavir Jayanti respectively.

The two aforementioned dates have also been declared as dry days and, as such, liquor outlets will remain shut on those days in Delhi State.

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit also confirmed that Tuesday, April 12, 2011, would be observed as Ram Navmi in Delhi State as per custom.
