The Government of India's state of Tamil Nadu has announced the days which will be non-working public holidays for the calendar year 2012.
As per custom (02-Nov-2010 and 19-Oct-2009), the aforementioned announcement, contained in the G.O. Ms. No.994, states that the listed dates are "in addition to Sundays expressly defined as public holidays" although public holidays falling fall on Saturdays and Sundays have been indicated in the above list "for easy reference".
The list of Tamil Nadu non-working public holidays for the calendar year 2012 does include an odd date, September 8, for the 2012 Sri Krishna Jayanti annual public holiday. According to our calculations, it should be Thursday, August 9, 2012, instead.
