The President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has issued a proclamation declaring Thursday, November 3, 2011, as a non-working public holiday to be observed throughout the Republic as a national holiday.
The aforementioned National Thanksgiving Day was set aside as an annual non-working public holiday by an Act of the National Legislature in 1883, but such last-minute re-confirmation of annual public holidays are a staple of the Liberian public holidays calendar (06-Apr-2011, 03-Nov-2010, 23-Jul-2010 and 08-Apr-2010).
