Mauritius' government has finally announced that it would not declare Tuesday, January 3, 2012, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Mauritius.

Last week (12-Dec-2011), Mauritius' Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Xavier-Luc Duval, had announced that it was likely that the government of Mauritius would soon declare Tuesday, January 3, 2012, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Mauritius.

Monday, January 3, 2011, was also declared a one-off non-working public holiday in Mauritius, at the end of last year (24-Jun-2010), when Prime Minister Ramgoolam realized that that the annual public holidays of January 1 and 2 both fell on a weekend in 2011.
