Nigerian Eid Public Holidays August 30-31

(Posted on Wednesday, August 24, 2011)

Source: The Official Gazette of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Abuja)

The Nigerian Minister of the Interior, Abba Moro, has issued a declaration of Tuesday and Wednesday, August 30-31, 2011, as the Nigerian non-working public holidays for the upcoming Eid-el-Fitri (End of Ramadan).

This year, once again (03-Sep-2010), but contrary to what happened the 2 previous years (18-Sep-2009 and 25-Sep-2008), Nigeria did not move the End of Ramadan public holidays to match the beginning of the week, and seems set to keep on following its previous practice of following the Libyan Muslim calendar (14-Sep-2007).
