The National Bank of Romania (BNR) has announced that Tuesday, January 3, 2012, would be a non-working bank holidays and financial sector holiday (zi bancara nelucratoare).
As per the aforementioned NBR Circular No. 43/2011, published in the Monitorul Oficial (Romanian Official Gazette) the January 3 one-off bank holiday will apply to all banks and financial markets.
The private sector and public sector will not be affected as their list of official non-working public holidays remains unchanged since last summer (21-Aug-2011).
