The Chief Islander of Saint Helena's region of Tristan da Cunha has declared tomorrow, Friday, May 27, 2011, as the day for this year's annual Ratting Day public holiday.
Last year (21-May-2010), the Ratting Day public holiday coincided with the Saint Helena Day public holiday on May 21st. But the year before (03-Jun-2009), the Ratting Day public holiday was held a few weeks later.
This public holiday is usually announced on the day before, or even on the morning of, as the ratting events require cooperative weather.
