The Sint Maarten Council of Ministers has finally decided to declare a one-off public sector holiday and give all government workers the day off on Friday, July 1, 2011, on account of the upcoming Emancipation Day.
The announcement, made yesterday, does not cover the private sector and is instead of the full nationwide public holiday whose legislation narrowly missed being in effect for this year (18-Jun-2011 and 03-Jun-2011).
