The newly appointed Secretary of the Social Democrat party, Sweden's largest party, Carin Jämtin, has gone back on her recent proposal of adding a Muslim public holiday in Sweden.
The last change to the list of official public holidays in Sweden occurred in 2005, when, following Sweden's Parliament decision (07-Jun-2002) to make June 6th, Sweden's National Day into a full public holiday, the Whit Monday public holiday was dropped from the list of public holidays in Sweden (30-Apr-2004).
