The government of Tonga has announced that the date of the upcoming Emancipation Day public holiday would be Monday, June 6, 2011, instead of Friday, June 4, 2011.
The aforementioned announcement stems from last year's "Public Holidays (Amendment) Act 2010" (Act No. 10 of 2010) which moves the date of some mid-week public holidays to the nearest Monday (19-May-2010).
