Tunisia Extends End of Ramadan Public Holidays

(Posted on Tuesday, August 23, 2011)

Tunisia's Prime Minister has announced the dates of the upcoming Aïd El Fitr public holidays as running for an extended period of 3 days, from Tuesday, August 30, until Thursday, September 1, 2011, inclusively.

The aforementioned declaration of a 3-day Aïd El Fitr period of public holidays is in line with last spring's announcement (25-May-2011) by the Tunisian Council of Ministers of a change to the Tunisian Labour Code, one feature of this change being the extension of the annual end of Ramadan public holiday for a 3rd consecutive day.
