The Tunisian Government has gazetted the recently-announced change in the legislation governing non-working public holidays in Tunisia.
The aforementioned "Décret n° 2011-317 du 26 mars 2011, fixant les jours fériés donnant lieu à congé au profit des personnels de l’Etat, des collectivités locales et des établissements publics à caractère administratif" confirms last month's announcement (18-Mar-2011) that the annual public holidays of March 21 and November 7 would be removed from the calendar of Tunisian public holiday, beginning in 2012 and 2011, respectively.
Unexpectedly, it also includes the restoration of the October 15 fête de l’évacuation (Evacuation Day) as a non-working public holiday in Tunisia starting in 2011.
