Chile's Communist Party has introduced a bill in the lower house of Parliament (Cámara de Diputados) to declare September 11 as a new annual non-working public holiday in Chile.
As such, the aforementioned new public holiday would be called "Día de los Derechos Humanos y la Conmemoración de las víctimas del terrorismo de Estado" to be colloquially abbreviated as "Día de los DDHH".
This bill is unlikely to be approved, or perhaps as a working public holiday (26-Mar-2012).
