The government of Guinea Conakry has declared Wednesday, August 15, 2012, as a non-working public holiday (journée ... chômée et payée sur toute l'étendue du territoire national) on account of the upcoming Lailatoul Qadr (Night of Destiny).
The aforementioned announcement, is in line with the list of 2012 non-working public holidays (jours chômés et payés) in the Republic of Guinea Conakry, as were finally announced, last spring (01-Apr-2012).
It does not, however, address the fact that, in 2012, the date of the Lailatoul Qadr non-working public holiday is the same as that of the Assumption annual public holiday on August 15.
It would appear that, contrary to what was done last year in the case of the Independence Day public holiday (02-Oct-2011), no additional public holiday will be given, in the same vein as what was done earlier this year for the Prophet's Birthday (03-Feb-2012).
