Earlier today, the Home Department of the Government of the Indian State of Sikkim declared Wednesday, September 26, 2012, as a one-off state public holiday on account of the funeral rites for H.H. Kybji Lachen Gomchen Rimpoche.
Apparently, the aforementioned public holiday applies to all sectors of the economy (private and public) as opposed to some other recent regional Indian public holidays (31-Jul-2012).
