The President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has issued a proclamation declaring Thursday, July 26, 2012, as a national non-working public holiday to be observed across the country on account of Liberia's Independence Day.
As per custom on these last-minute re-confirmations of annual public holidays (12-Mar-2012, 07-Feb-2012, 26-Nov-2011, 01-Nov-2011, 06-Apr-2011, 03-Nov-2010, 23-Jul-2010 and 08-Apr-2010), the Foreign Ministry release states that "the Proclamation orders all Government Offices, Public and Business Houses be closed in observance of the day".
