The Consejo de Gobierno of the regional government of Spain's autonomous region of las Islas Canarias, has announced the official list of 2013 regional public holidays (calendario laboral) in the Canaries Islands.

The DECRETO 78/2012, de 6 de septiembre, de la Comunidad Autónoma de Canarias, por el que se determina el calendario de fiestas laborales de la Comunidad Autónoma de Canarias para el año 2013, y se abre plazo para fijar las fiestas locales. contains all the nationwide Spanish public holidays and, to these, adds the May 30 "Día de Canarias" and another public holiday on Monday, January 7, 2013, as other Spanish regions have done (01-Jul-2012, 19-Jun-2012, 27-May-2012 and 29-Apr-2012), to compensate the fact that, in 2013, the Epifanía del Señor public holiday falls on a Sunday.

As was the case last year (29-Jul-2011), the aforementioned announcement contains the dates of the 2013 additional municipal public holidays specific to each of the individual islands that make up the Canaries.
