Taiwan's Personnel Administration Minister, Frank Huang, has announced that Taiwan's Directorate-General of Personnel Administration is considering mandating local governments to convert a normally non-working public holiday into a working day each time a one-off typhoon public holiday is declared.

According to the aformentioned announcement, in recent years (07-Aug-2009 and 18-Sep-2007), there has been an average of 3.6 working days per year declared a day off because of typhoons.
