The President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, has signed a resolution "On Celebrating the Ramazan Hayit Holiday" which declares Monday, August 20, 2012, as an additional non-working day off public holiday for the upcoming Ramazan Hayit (End of Ramadan), due to the 2012 first day of the Ramadan Hayit falling on a Sunday and "to celebrate the Hayit properly".

Earlier this week (20-Mar-2012), President Karimov had signed another non-working public holiday resolution, which declared Thursday, March 22, and Friday, March 23, 2012, as additional one-off non-working public holidays in Uzbekistan.
