Kyrgyzstan Public Holidays February 22-23

The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced that Monday and Tuesday, February 22-23, 2016, would be official non-working public holidays in Kyrgyzstan on account of the upcoming Defender of the Fatherland Day annual non-working public holiday in Kyrgyzstan.

The aforementioned announcement was made in accordance with Article 113 of the Labor Code, and is in line with the approved calendar of 2016 public holidays of the Kyrgyz Republic as announced late last year (09-Dec-2015).

The non-working public holiday in Kyrgyzstan on February 22 will be compensated by Saturday, February 20, 2016, having been declared a regular working day in Kyrgyzstan, in the long traditions whereby the declaration of one-off bridge non-working public holidays in Kyrgyzstan are compensated by declaring a weekend day as a regular working day (26-Dec-2014, 28-Apr-2013, 31-Dec-2011, 11-Nov-2010, 25-Aug-2010, 15-Feb-2010, 11-Dec-2009, 19-Dec-2008 and 27-Dec-2007).
