The Minister of Interior of the Federal Government of Nigeria, Abdulrahman Dambazau, in a statement earlier today by the Director, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Muhammadu Maccido, has announced that the Nigerian Federal Government had declared Monday, May 1st, 2017, as a non-working public holiday in Nigeria.

As was the case in past years (29-Apr-2016, 28-Apr-2015, 29-Apr-2014, 27-Apr-2013 and 27-Apr-2012), the aforementioned declaration of Monday, May 1st, 2017, as a non-working public holiday in Nigeria corresponds to the upcoming annual public holiday for Workers' Day.
