Belarus Declares March 7 and May 2nd Public Holidays

The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus has issued a resolution declaring Monday, March 7, and Monday, May 2, 2011, as a one-off, non-working public holidays in Belarus.

The aforementioned "Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No.232 of February 24, 2011" thus amends the list of official public holidays in Belarus for the calendar year 2011, which was released by the government of Belarus, earlier this year (2011-01-27).

In compensation for the March 7 bridge public holiday and May 2 day in lieu public holiday, as it did in past years year (2010-04-30, 2010-04-01, 2009-03-13, 2006-12-20, 2004-04-15, 2003-12-18 and 2003-04-25), the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus has declared Saturday, March 12, and Saturday, May 14, 2011, respectively, as regular working days throughout the Republic of Belarus.
