Pakistan Public Holiday Tomorrow

The Governor of Pakistan's Province of Sindh, Ishratul Ebad Khan, has declared tomorrow, Monday, October 24, 2011, as a one-off regional non-working public holiday across the province, to mark the death of Begum Nusrat Bhutto, the wife of former Pakistani prime minister, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Nationwide or provincial public holidays are regularly declared in Pakistan to commemorate various anniversaries of former prime minister, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, as well as his daughter, Benazir Bhutto (2010-12-23, 2009-12-19, 2009-04-03, 2008-12-23, 2008-12-17, 2008-11-13, 2008-06-20, 2008-02-06, and 2007-12-28).

In a later announcement, Sunday evening, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, announced a 10-day national period of mourning as well as a nationwide non-working public holiday on Monday, October 24, 2011.
