The government of Jordan has announced that the upcoming Labour Day public holiday would be observed on Sunday, April 29, 2012, rather than its traditional date of May 1st.
The Jordanian government often (2006-04-25), though not systematically (2010-04-27 and 2005-04-25), moves mid-week public holidays to the nearest weekend, in particular the Labour Day non-working public holiday.
