Bahrain 2015 Public Holidays Announced

Bahrain's Central Bank has published its annual list of expected bank and public holidays in Bahrain for the calendar year 2015.

As was the case in past years (2013-08-22, 2012-10-21, 2011-09-07, 2010-07-02 and 2009-06-22), this published list does not contain the days in lieu that occur when a public holiday falls on one of the weekends days as defined in Bahrain (2006-08-02).

In addition, once again, the aforementioned list seems based on the Arithmetic Islamic Calendar rather than the Saudi Umm al-Qura calendar, and for 2015 the announced Muslim public holidays dates for the Prophet's Birthday are a day earlier than the Saudi Umm al-Qura calendar, which is itself often a day early as compared to Asia and some African countries.

We therefore expect the aforementioned Muslim public holidays dates announced for 2015 in Bahrain to be changed at the last minute.
