Vanuatu's Head of State, President Iolu Johnson Abbil, on the recommendation of Vanuatu's Prime Minister, Moana Carcasses, has declared Tuesday, January 7, 2014, as another one-off electoral public holiday in Vanuatu.

In the past, Vanuatu election days have often been declared official non-working public holidays, as was done for regional elections (30-May-2013, 23-May-2012 and 19-Apr-2010), presidential elections (28-Aug-2009) and legislative elections (01-Sep-2008).
