Algerian Revolution Day Public Holiday 2017

The Algerian Ministry of Labour (Ministère du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Sécurité Sociale) has announced that Wednesday, November 1st, 2017, had been declared a non-working public holiday in Algeria on account of the annual "fête de la Révolution" annual non-working public holiday of Algeria.

The aforementioned announcement ("La journée de mercredi 1er Novembre, date du déclenchement de la Révolution pour l'indépendance, sera chômée et payée pour l'ensemble des personnels des institutions et administrations publiques, y compris les personnels payés à l'heure ou à la journée"), as were past ones (2016-10-27 and 2015-10-26), is in line with current public holidays legislation in Algeria (2014-10-29) and applies to both the private and public sectors of Algeria ("Ce congé chômé et payé concerne l’ensemble des personnels des institutions et administrations publiques, des services spécialisés, des collectivités locales et les entreprises commerciales, industrielles, artisanales et agricoles y compris les personnels payés à l’heure et à la journée.").
