Dominican Republic Public Holiday September 24

(Posted on Friday, September 22, 2017)

Source: Ministerio de Trabajo República Dominicana (Santo Domingo)

The Ministry of Labour of the Dominican Republic has issued a communiqué confirming that, as per the current public holidays legislation, Sunday, September 24, 2017, would be an official non-working public holiday in the Dominican Republic on account of the upcoming Día de Las Mercedes annual immovable non-working public holiday in the Dominican Republic.

The aforementioned announcement ("El Ministerio de Trabajo reiteró que es inamovible la festividad del Día de Las Mercedes, que se celebra el domingo 24 de septiembre") that Sunday, September 24, 201, would be an official non-working public holiday in the Dominican Republic is in line with last fall's official listing of public holidays in the Dominican Republic for the year 2017 (06-Nov-2016), and the current public holidays legislation (19-Jun-1997), namely law 139-97.
