The Government of India's Union Territory of Chandigarh has decided to observe September 30, 2017, as a public holiday on account of Dasehra, within the meaning of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

The aforementioned announcement of Dasehra as a non-working public holiday in India's Union Territory of Chandigarh ("in all government offices/boards/corporations / institutions, including industrial establishments, under the Chandigarh Administration"), thus amends the previously-released notification of the annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's Union Territory of Chandigarh for the calendar year 2017, as contained in the Notification 6/1/1-IH(I)-2016/32154 issued by the Chandigarh Administration Home Department (08-Dec-2016), and in which Dasehra had been listed as a restricted holiday.
