The government of the Macau SAR has announced it is considering changes to the laws and regulations governing non-working public holidays in Macau.

The aforementioned proposed changes to the laws and regulations governing non-working public holidays in Macau would grant all workers "an added rest day for the employee within a period of 30 days" whenever "a public holiday overlaps with an employee’s rest day"", something that until now has been reserved for the public sector of Taiwan (2017-03-10, 2016-04-17, 2015-04-15, 2014-03-25, 2013-02-23, 2012-03-20, 2011-07-22, 2010-03-31), withe actual list of general public holidays much more limited (2017-03-30, 2016-05-05, 2015-04-29, 2014-04-10, 2013-03-06, 2012-04-06, 2011-08-02, 2010-04-15).
