Madagascar To Declare Plague Public Holiday

Madagascar's President, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, has announced that he is about to declare a one-off non-working public holiday in Madagascar ("journée d'assainissement chômée et payée") to coincide with a cleanup effort in Madagascar's principal cities.

The aforementioned declaration of a plague cleanup related one-off non-working public holiday in Madagascar, whose date will be set at this week's council of Ministers meeting will be announced later today or Thursday, and will be in addition to the previously-released "Décret fixant la liste des jours fériés, chômés et payés au titre de l’année 2017", listing the non-working public holidays in Madagascar for the calendar year 2017 (2017-02-01 and 2017-01-03).
