Earlier today, the President of Maurtitania, issued a communique once again extending the previously-announced date of Saturday, September 2, 2017, as the date of the upcoming Aid El Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holiday in Mauritania, had been extended by another day on Monday, September 4, 2017 ("la journée du lundi 4 septembre sera journée chômée et payée").

The aforementioned date of Saturday, September 2, 2017, for the first day of the Aid El Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holiday in Mauritania, had been in line with the dates that were announced, late last year (2016-12-30), in the list of official non-working public holidays in Mauritania for the calendar year 2017.

Such extension, to a second day, of the Aid El Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holiday in Mauritania, is common (2016-09-09, 2016-07-06, 2014-07-28 and 2014-07-27), in particular as, since 2014, Mauritania is back to Saturday/Sunday weekends (2014-09-12), justifying the aforementioned decree's statement that "le lundi 4 septembre, la première journée ouvrable après la fête d’Al Adha, sera journée chômée et payée".
