The Ministry of the Interior of the Federal Government of Pakistan has announced 2 public holidays in Pakistan for the upcoming Ashura (Martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hossain ) annual non-working public holidays in Pakistan for the calendar year 2017, as Saturday, September 30, and Sunday, October 1, 2017.

The aforementioned announcement of Saturday, September 30, and Sunday, October 1, 2017, as the dates for the upcoming Ashura (Martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hossain ) annual non-working public holidays in Pakistan for the calendar year 2017, is in line with the 2017 public holidays dates in Pakistan announced in the "expected dates for public and optional holidays for the calendar year 2017" published by the Government of Pakistan early this year (25-Dec-2016).

Earlier this month (21-Sep-2017), the Ministry of the Interior of the Federal Government of Pakistan had already announced the date for the upcoming Ashura (Martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hossain ) annual non-working public holiday in Pakistan for the calendar year 2017, as Sunday, October 1, 2017.
