Russian 2018 Public Holidays Decree

The Russian Ministry of Labor has released a draft decree for the Russian government to postpone the days off in 2018, in the context of the announcement of the list of official non-working public holidays in Russia in the calendar year 2018.

Today's announcement follows the recent online "poll" by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, which proposed a draft list of official public holidays and bridge holidays in Russia for the upcoming calendar year 2018 for general review (2017-03-17).

In that, as yet unnumbered and undated decree, "Government Resolution On The Transfer Of Public Holidays in 2018", and as was done in previous years (2016-08-04, 2016-06-07, 2015-09-26, 2015-06-19, 2014-08-30, 2014-05-23, 2013-06-03, 2012-10-17, 2012-09-29, 2011-07-21, 2010-08-24, 2009-11-10, 2008-11-28, 2007-08-11, 2007-01-06, 2006-11-11, and 2005-12-28), whenever a fixed-date annual public holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, the preceding Monday or Friday is usually declared a one-off bridge public holiday, to be compensated by declaring a nearby Saturday to be a regular working day, as mandated by the amendments to Article 112 of Russia's Labour Code (2004-12-30).
